Caryn wins sportswoman of the year .....Again The Kelt Capital Hockey Academy is very proud to announce that our Assistant Coach, Caryn Paewai has been awarded the sportswoman of the year award at the recent Ngati Kahungunu Sports Awards. This is the 3rd time that Caryn has won this award. She was presented her award at a function attended by 350 people in the Hawke's Bay Opera House Assembly Hall in Hastings...... It has been an extremely exciting year for Caryn, which featured the second Olympic Games of her impressive hockey career. Following the Olympic games in Beijing, Caryn announced her retirement from international hockey. - HNZ Level One Coaching Programme: Saturday 6th December 2008: `HNZ Level One Coach Course` is a one day (9 hours) coach course designed for practicing coaches who wish to advance their hockey knowledge, general principles of sports coaching and game analysis. Ideal for secondary school coaches of all levels, club coaches and junior age group representation coaches. Registrations close Thursday 4th December 2008. - Big Day Out: Over a 100, 5 - 10 year old boys and girls, took part in a unique holiday programme playing hockey and rugby during the school holidays. Big Day Out Media Release
- Future Elite 18's: 15th - 19th December 2008. This camp provides the opportunity for players to mix with Olympic Blackstick players and learn about what is required to reach that level. - Hockey FantaSTICKS: 13th - 15th January 2009. This high energy three day coaching programme is designed for players ages between 8 - 14 years. The FantaSTICKS coaching programme is to further your hockey development by improving basic skills and learning the valuable playing concepts of hockey.
