Booster - Junior & Senior Junior - September Senior - May & June
The Booster programmes run for six weeks prior to the Age Group Tournaments, running from April - June for the Senior group (U15 & U18) and July - September for the Junior group (U11 & U13). A total of 150 players a year enrol in the programme with training sessions taking place 2-3 times a week for each age group. There are two training sessions per day with one at 6.30am and the second at 3.30pm. After the morning session players are given a healthy breakfast before going to school.
The programme is designed to enhance and develop both the individual technical skills of the players as well as an opportunity for the representative teams to work together and improve their tactical team play prior to the National Tournaments.
Recent Programmes
Senior Booster - May & June The Hawke's Bay Senior Representative players used the Booster programme during May and June to prepare for their National tournaments held in the July school holidays. Booster will have assisted these players and hopefully allowing the Rep teams to achieve high honours. Once again Cape Physio kindly agreed to come in and retest our Academy Members during this phase. Having implemented some new stretching and strengthening techniques after the previous testing we were extremely pleased to get the positive data back. Hamstring strength had improved by 40% and calf strength had improved by 37% throughout the squad. The Academy would like to thank Cape Physio for their time and effort. It certainly has had a positive impact on the physical conditioning of our players
